What are Views?
A view describes the type of data that you want to see in the worksheet. Each type of data is displayed in a row. Each row of the grid represents a Demand Type/Planning Object. The view describes the set of demand types or planning objects that are displayed in the worksheet.
There are five default Demand Views included in the application: Default, Actual Demand View, Marketing View, Sales View, and Planner View.
Create New Views
Admin users can create and manage the demand types/planning object that are available in the Demand Collaboration worksheet from the Views Configuration section of the Demand settings tab.
1. Click the Create New View button at the bottom of the Views Configuration window to create a new demand type/planning object view.
2. Create a name for the New View and click Create View.
3. The Add Demand Type/Planning Object to View button at the top of the Views Configuration window will now be active.
4. Click the Add Demand Type to View/Planning Object button to launch a dropdown of the Demand Types/Planning Object in the application. Select a Demand Type/Planning Object to include it in the view.
5. The selected Demand Type/Planning Object will be added to the View. Repeat Step 4 to add more Demand Type/Planning Object to the View.
Types of Planning Objects
- Additions: sum of production, transfer In, By Products, Procurement
- Withdrawals: sum of Demand, Transfer out, Consumption
- DaysCoverage: how many days of future withdrawals can be covered by the start of period stock level at end of the first day
- WeeksCoverage: (DaysCoverage / 7)
- TransferOutInfeasible: quantity of transfer outs that start in period and have a shortfall at the source
- AvailableToPromise: estimates how many products that can be delivered to customers by a specific date
- StockAdjustment: calculated based on the stock adjustment records in orbit (currently unused)
- DemandQuantityExpired: demand that is infeasible and expires within the period
- DemandFilledInPeriod: as named
- DemandQuantityFilledFromSupplyInTheSamePeriod: demand filled from supply activity that occurs in the same period as the demand
- DemandQuantityPartiallyFilled: the portion of demand that was satisfied in the period
- SupplyQuantityAllocatedToOnTimeDemand: the quantity of supply allocated to on-time demand in period
- SupplyQuantityAllocatedToLateDemand: the quantity of supply allocated to late demand in period
- SupplyPeggedToDemand: quantity of supply pegged to demand regardless of on-time or late
- SupplyPeggedToTransferOut: quantity of supply pegged to stock transfers in period
- SupplyPeggedToConsumption: quantity of supply pegged to consumption in period
- WithdrawalsPegged: quantity of withdrawals pegged to demand in period
- PurchaseCost: purchase quantity * stock unit cost
- TransportCost: same as transport cost used in metrics; calculated by transport route, vehicle type, and quantity per vehicle allowed and uses transfer in quantity and transfer in item
- TransportOutCost: transport cost calc using the transfer out quantity and transfer out item
- TransportInCost: transport cost calc using the transfer in quantity and transfer in item
You can also add a conditional format to a view with the Add Configuration Format button.
Drilldowns
Drill Down adds a link to the right-click menu of a demand type's cells in Collaboration.
Add a Drill Down link
Each link belongs to one demand type in one view. To offer the same report on several demand types or views, add it to each one.
- Go to Settings > Views Configuration.
- In the Views list, select the view, for example Default.
- Find the demand type row, for example Demand Plan.
- In the Drill Down column, click +Add. The Add Power BI Configuration drawer opens.
- Enter a Name. This is the text planners see in the right-click menu.
- Enter the URL, including a filter= part with at least one condition. See Writing the URL and mappings.
- Under Filter Attributes Mapping, add a row for each Arkieva attribute to pass to the report:
- Pick the attribute in Filter Name.
- Enter the Code Field Mapping clause.
- Enter the Text Field Mapping clause.
- Click Save.
To change a link later, open it from the same column. The drawer title changes to Edit Power BI Configuration. The Filter Name of a saved mapping row cannot be changed; to map a different attribute, delete the row and add a new one.
Field reference
Filter Name options:
Views Configuration does not check what you type. A URL with no filter= part, or a mapping with a bare column name, saves without warning and produces a link that does not filter the report.
Power BI Report
When linking a Power BI report in a new browser tab, it will already be filtered to the periods and the planning node you are looking at. For example, a planner reviewing the Demand Plan for item AA 100 in the USA can right-click the January to March cells and open a sales report showing only AA 100, USA, January 1 to March 31.
- Administrators and implementers set up the link once per demand type, per view, in Views Configuration.
- Planners use it from the Collaboration worksheet. No setup is needed on their side.
Gather these from the Power BI report owner before opening Views Configuration:
- The report URL, including its report ID, for example https://app.powerbi.com/reportEmbed?reportId=<id>.
- The date table and column the report filters on, for example Dates/Date.
- The table and column names for each Arkieva attribute you want to pass, for both the code and the description. For example, item code in Item/Item_CD and item description in Item/Item_TX.
- How each column stores its values. The Power BI column must hold the same codes or descriptions that Arkieva shows in the filter tree, or the report filters to nothing.
Names are taken from the report's data model and must match exactly, including case. A table or column name that contains a space is written with _x0020_ in place of the space. For example, a table named Sales Orders becomes Sales_x0020_Orders.
Writing the URL and mappings
The URL and every mapping use Power BI's URL filter syntax: Table/Column operator value, with conditions joined by and. Arkieva adds each mapping to the end of the URL as +and+<mapping>, so the URL must already hold one condition for the mappings to join.
Syntax rules
Placeholders
Arkieva replaces these tags when the planner clicks the link.
• Use {{startDate}} and {{endDate}} once each. Only the first occurrence of each is replaced.
• Spaces and apostrophes inside {{value}} are encoded for you. Widget A is sent as Widget%20A.
URL template
https://app.powerbi.com/reportEmbed?reportId=<id>&filter=Dates/Date+ge+{{startDate}}+and+Dates/Date+le+{{endDate}}
Mapping template
<Table>/<Column>+eq+'{{value}}'
How the link is built
The link depends on three things at the moment of the click: the selected cells, the selected filter tree node and the planner's View Codes setting.
- Dates. If the planner selected several period columns, {{startDate}} is the start of the first selected period and {{endDate}} is the end of the last. Otherwise the full planning horizon is used.
- Hierarchy. Arkieva walks the path from the top of the filter tree down to the selected node. For each level whose attribute has a mapping, it adds +and+<mapping> with {{value}} filled in. Levels without a mapping are skipped.
- Code or text. If the planner has View Codes on, the Code Field Mapping is used and {{value}} is the node's code. If it is off, the Text Field Mapping is used and {{value}} is the description.
- The finished URL opens in a new browser tab.
The selected node decides how many attributes reach the report. With a tree of Item, then Location Country, and both attributes mapped:

View Codes is a personal setting. Planners find it in the display settings panel, opened from the sliders icon in the top bar, next to Currency, Decimal Places and Theme. Two planners clicking the same link can send different values, so fill in both mappings on every row.
Example
This setup passes the date range, item and country to a sales report.
Configuration on the Demand Plan demand type
Planner action: with View Codes off, the planner selects USA under AA 100 in the filter tree, highlights the Jan to Mar 2027 cells on the Demand Plan row, right-clicks and chooses Open Sales Report.
Link that opens
https://app.powerbi.com/reportEmbed?reportId=123&filter=Dates/Date+ge+2027-01-01+and+Dates/Date+le+2027-03-31+and+Item/itmTx+eq+'AA%20100'+and+Location/locTx+eq+'USA'
If the planner selects AA 100 instead of USA, the Location clause is left out. If View Codes is on, itmCd and locCd replace itmTx and locTx.
Using Drill Down in Collaboration
- In the filter tree, select the node you want to report on. A lower node passes more detail to the report.
- On the row of a demand type that has a Drill Down link, select two or more period cells to limit the report to those dates. A single cell sends the full planning horizon.
- Right-click a selected cell. The link appears in the menu under the name the administrator gave it, between Override Report and Add Comment.
- Click the link. The Power BI report opens in a new browser tab, filtered to your selection.
The menu item appears only when both of these are true:
- The demand type you right-clicked has a Drill Down link in the current view.
- Your filter tree includes at least one of the attributes the link maps. A link that maps Item Group does not appear while the tree is built on Item and Location Country.

[ ] Conditions column: what the Conditions column beside Drill Down does. It is not covered here.
[ ] Other destinations: whether Drill Down supports targets other than Power BI. Testing showed that non-Power BI URLs save and open, but they are not described here.
[ ] Filter Name locked on edit: confirm why a saved row's Filter Name is grayed out, and that deleting and re-adding the row is the intended way to change it.
[ ] Links with no mappings: testing showed a link with no mapping rows appears on every node. Confirm this is intended.
[ ] Clause handling for non-Power BI URLs: in testing, a Collaboration URL with no filter= part received no clauses. Confirm whether clauses are added only when filter= is present.
[ ] End date on date-time columns: confirm whether le {{endDate}} drops records time-stamped later on the last day when the Power BI column is a date-time.
[ ] Screenshots: add the Add Power BI Configuration drawer, the right-click menu and the View Codes panel.
