Manufacturing Methods
A manufacturing method shows the operations used to produce an item.
Create a New Manufacturing method

- There are two ways to create a new Manufacturing Method, you can select an Item from the Produced Item Code list and click the dropdown arrow, then click +Add New, or you can click the New button to launch the New Manufacturing Method.
- Next, select a Product from the Product Item dropdown
- Next, type in the Manufacturing Method Name and Description. Optionally, you can type in the Waste Production Per Unit, CO2 Production Per Unit, and Recycled Materials Used, if needed.
- Check the Enabled Box to enable the Manufacturing Method for use, then click Save.
- The new created Manufacturing Method will appear under the Produced Item Code for that Product in the Manufacturing Methods list. Click the dropdown arrow to view the Manufacturing Method.
Adding Operations to Manufacturing Methods
Now that you have created a Manufacturing Method, click the dropdown arrow as mentioned above, and click the +Add New button next the Operations title.
- From here, type a Name and Description for the Operation, then you can optionally select a Manufacturing Resource and a Bill of Materials. Click Save.
- The operations information will now appear with the Operation Code.
- You can add additional Operations to a manufacturing method. When adding more operations, you can then select a previous operation as a dependency.
- Predecessor Operation: Select an operation for the dependency.
- Dependency Type: Select a dependency type from the dropdown: Predecessor finish to successor start, Predecessor start to successor start, Predecessor setup to successor start, Predecessor setup to successor setup, Predecessor finish to successor setup, Predecessor finish to successor finish, and Predecessor to successor rate rate difference.
- Elastic or Hot Feed: Select the type of extruder for the manufacturing dependency. You will also need to create minimum and maximum hours for the extruder operations.
- Some Manufacturing Resources will also allow more than one Dependency to be added. The message 'Maximum dependencies reached' will appear to the right of the Add Dependency link button and the button will be grayed out when no more dependencies can be created for that resource.
Adding Process Data to Operations
- After creating an Operation, you can add Process data to the Operation by clicking the +Add New next to the Process Data title after clicking the dropdown arrow for that Operation. Here you will create a Name Description, select a Manufacturing Resource, optionally select a Bill of Material, Start Date and Expiration Date, create a Rate of BUoM / hr, and optionally create a priority, lot size, minimum run size, setup time, lead time, delay time, minimum run time, and incremental run time.
Resources
View, Edit and Create Supply Resources. From the Edit Resources drawer you can edit the Resource Code, Resource Description, Resource Type, Resource Location, Cost per Hour, Vehicle Type, Waste Production per Hour, CO2 Production per Hour, if it is a Continuous Resource (Yes or No), and if the Resource is Enabled (checked or unchecked).

Campaign Templates
Create campaign templates for use in S&OP Campaign Planning.
Campaign planning is a common scheduling requirement for the process industries where setup and cleaning times are significant. A campaign is a series of consecutive production orders of the same or similar products on a production line. By grouping similar products together, changeover times and costs are minimized. When creating an MPS, simple volume planning by item is not sufficient for process industries. Products are usually made in campaign which could span multiple periods.
- First we need to create a Manufacturing Method then Operations then Process data for the item we wish to create a campaign where we will be defining the Resources. Once that is done, we will get a match in campaign Planning Module once we try to create a new campaign using that particular item and resources.
- Now we can create a Campaign Template. Click +New to launch the New Campaign Templates drawer.
- Type a Name and Description for the Campaign Template.
- Click +Add new item to start selecting items for the campaign template rows.
- Double-click the yellow box to launch the dropdown menu of items to select. Click an item to select it for the campaign template row.
- Click +Add new item again if you wish to repeat the process of selecting additional items for the campaign template rows.
- Click Save.
- The new Campaign Template will appear in the list. The Campaign template can now be used in Campaign Planning from the Create Campaign 'Campaign Template' dropdown.
- You can now go to Campaign Planning and create a campaign from a created template.
