Unit of Measure on Launch and Promotion Events

Unit of Measure on Launch and Promotion Events

Launch and promotion events in Lifecycle Manager have a Unit of Measure setting. Use it to record the unit that the event's volumes are entered in, such as kilograms, liters, gallons or eaches. Planners entering or reviewing the event can then see which unit the volumes are in.

For example, a beverage launch planned in liters can have its Unit of Measure set to Liters, so an Average Weekly Volume after Maturity of 5,000 is read as 5,000 liters a week.

The setting is optional and is available on two event types:

  1. Feature flag. The Unit of Measure setting is controlled by the LifeCycleAddUOM feature flag. If you don't see it on launch and promotion events, ask your administrator whether the flag is on. With the flag off, events don't show the setting.
  2. Custom units. To use a custom unit, it must be active for your tenant.

Set the unit on a launch or promotion event

  1. Go to Demand Planner > Lifecycle Manager.
  2. Create an event with New Event, or open an existing Launch or Promotion event. The New & Edit Launch or New & Edit Promotion drawer opens.
  3. In Unit of Measure, select the unit the event's volumes are entered in.
  4. Enter the event's volumes in that unit.
  5. Save the event.

The Lifecycle Manager grid groups events by type: Launch, Promotion, End of Life and Realignment. Expand Launch or Promotion to see its events.

Change or clear the unit

  1. Open the event in Lifecycle Manager.
  2. In Unit of Measure, select a different unit, or clear the field to leave it blank.
  3. Save the event.
The change is kept after you save and reopen the event.

Which units you can choose

The Unit of Measure list includes standard units, such as KG, Liters, Gallons and Eaches, plus every custom unit that is active for your tenant. A custom unit that has been deactivated doesn't appear in the list and can't be selected.

Events without a unit

Unit of Measure can be left blank. Events saved without a unit, including events that existed before the feature flag was turned on, show a blank Unit of Measure and aren't affected by the setting until you choose a unit.
