Working with Filters

Working with Filters

Filtering your data is a core part of the functionality in Arkieva, and a driving component behind modules such as Collaboration. The filter allows you to build granular sets of data, by layering different Item, Location, and Customer attributes.

Use Filters to:

  1. Configure levels in the tree hierarchy
  2. For each level, select the associated ILC values to filter on
  3. Load, save, rename, and Duplicate filters

Adding Levels to the Tree Hierarchy

The tree hierarchy defines the structure of the filter, and is made up of Item, Location, and Customer attributes. Click "Add Level" and select an Item, Location, or Customer attribute.

By default, all data entries associated with the attribute are selected via the dropdown to the right of the tree hierarchy.

How to Re-order the Tree Hierarchy

Filter levels in the tree hierarchy can be reordered via drag and drop, which affects the configuration of the tree component in the workbench.

Filter Actions

With Filter Actions you can:

  1. Create a new filter
  2. Save the current filter
  3. Rename the current filter
  4. Duplicate the current filter
  5. Reset to clear all levels and selections
  6. Delete the current filter

Saved Filters

Once you create and save a filter, you can access that filter in other areas of the application. You can load a saved filter by selecting the "Load" button in the filter panel.

Including items/Excluding items toggle

You can include selected filter items or exclude selected filter items by toggling this switch.

Copy/Paste values to bulk select items

You can copy and paste data from Excel and apply it as filter items in Arkieva by launching the filter drawer and clicking the Copy/Paste values to bulk select items button.

You need to make sure what you are copy/pasting aligns with the “View Codes” setting in the top right corner. This setting indicates whether you will see CD (code) or TX (description) in the application. When you are copy/pasting descriptions, toggle the switch Off. When you are copy/pasting codes, toggle the switch On.

For example, if you wanted to copy and paste the following codes:
  1. 81010131
  2. 81010132
  3. 81010133
You need to toggle the View Codes toggle On so it recognizes the CDs when pasted. If you paste the codes with View Codes Off, the  application looks for descriptions and it will skip them.

  1. First click the Copy/Paste button to launch the Quick Attribute Selection window.

  1. Note how the pop-up window indicates the current setting of the toggle button and mentions the attribute name for clarity.

  1. Copy from Excel and Paste data into the Quick Attribute Selection box.

  1. The attributes copy and pasted into the Quick Attribute Selection box will be highlighted in the Filter drawer.
  2. Click Apply inside the Quick Attribute Selection box. The copy and pasted items from Excel will be selected as filter items within Arkieva filter drawer.
