Planning Worksheet: Getting Started

The supply planning process involves the delicate art of balancing unconstrained demand forecasts with organizational constraints like people and resources. Balancing or creating a supply plan is done either by (a) Production - manufacturing the products (b) Purchasing - from 3rd party supplier (c) Transferring - from an alternate warehouse or DC.





The S&OP Planning Worksheet provides a workspace for creating the supply plan. As you enter production, procurements, and transfers into the worksheet, and inventory balances are automatically updated. In addition, Arkieva constantly monitors the plan for detailed violations so that the user can focus on these exceptions.


Use the Planning Worksheet to:
  1. Create production, purchases, or transfers
  2. Uncover violations in the supply plan 


Maximize Pane / Restore Size

Toggle maximizing and minimizing pane sizes.






Filter

to access the Filter options, click Filter in the navigation tree to launch the Filter pane.






  1. As a planning administrator, you can configure additional filter levels (using composite Item-Location attributes such as a local reference code) between or beneath the standard Item and Location levels in the Planning Worksheet filter tree. This allows a meaningful view into demand and supply planners PWS item-location combinations without manually selecting individual items or locations.





Tree

On the left part of the screen is the same flexible hierarchical structure as in the demand focus collaboration module. In this case, the tree is also defined by item group, item, and location. Item and location must always be included in the tree. 




Bottom Grid

The bottom Grid shows all Summary data, publish, views options, comments, optimize, manage backorders, sales opportunities, and right-click options.





Publish




Views

  1. Toggle on or off the data in the grid from the Views dropdown. You can also reorder the data by clicking and dragging the data up or down. Click Apply to save changes.
  2. Selections made in the Views dropdown will affect the Summary Grid as well.  




Manage in Settings

  1. Click the Manage in Settings dropdown to access the Manage Views and Manage Planning Objects links. These links will take you to the S&OP Views Configuration Settings and the S&OP Planning Objects Settings tabs.










Time Period / Visible future time period

Click this dropdown to access different Time Period and Visible Future Time Period viewing options. 




Units

Change how the data is viewed in Units. 





Compare

Switch between None, Official, or Budget view to compare different views of the data.



Align Grids

Toggle on Align Grids to move the top and bottom grids scroll at the same time when only one is dragged left and right.
