Sales Opportunity

Sales Opportunity

Sales Opportunity is a data object that the Sales department can use to suggest and submit Sales Opportunities through the Sales Opportunity component of Arkieva.
  1. Creating a Sales Opportunity will add those opportunities to Collaboration.
  2. Submitting Sales Opportunities will add those opportunities to the Planning Worksheet.
These Sales Opportunities can then be used for future demand planning.

You can access the Sales Opportunity page by clicking the Sales Opportunity card in the Home page of Arkieva.

Start a new Sales Opportunity

Before you can start a new Sales Opportunity, you must have the Sales Opportunity Creator role. The Team Administrator can give you this role.
  1. Click the Start a new Opportunity button to launch the New Sales Opportunity pane.

  1. On the Product page, select the Product Information for the product you would like to recommend for a sales opportunity. Select the Customer, Item, and Location of the Product from the dropdowns, and select the sales period from the Calendar.
  2. Click Continue.

  1. Next, on the Current Info page, you can view the Current Item Information: Average Sales Price (ASP) and Demand Plan, and you can optionally add a Competitor and their price for a similar product.
  2. Click Continue.

  1. Lastly, on the Request page, you can check the Use current price checkbox to retain the ASP on the previous Current Info page, or type a new price for each unit. The Price Variance from ASP will show automatically.
  2. Type the Volume of units you expect to sell, then click Create Request.

  1. A message will popup showing the Sales Opportunity was created successfully. Notice that under the Status column, the Sales Opportunity will be flagged as Pending.

Collaboration Sales Opportunity

  1. All Created Sales Opportunities will appear in the Collaboration tool when the Sales Opportunity View is selected.

Approve, Offer Alternative Price/Volume, or Reject a Sales Opportunity

Only a user with the Sales Opportunity Approver Role can Approve, Offer Alternative Price/Volume, or Reject a Sales Opportunity.
  1. After a Sales Opportunity has been created, the Sales Opportunity can be viewed by a person given the Sales Opportunity Approver role.
  2. Click View to launch the Sales Opportunity pane.

  1. The Sales Opportunity pane offers three options for the Sales Opportunity Approver, the Approve, Offer Alternative Price/Volume, and Reject.

Approve Sales Opportunity

  1. Here you can review the information created for the Sales Opportunity, and click Save to Approve. The Status for the Sales Opportunity will change from Pending to Approved. The Sales Opportunity can now be submitted to Collaboration by checking the Submit checkbox - we will go into that more in the next section.

Offer Alternative Price / Volume

  1. Here you can review the created Sales Opportunity but offer an alternative unit price and expected volume to be sold. Clicking Save will change the Sales Opportunity Status from Pending to Reviewed. The Sales Opportunity will eventually need to be Approved to move forward.

Reject Sales Opportunity

  1. To reject the Sales Opportunity, go to the Reject page and click Save. The Status of the Sales Opportunity will change to Rejected, in which case it can now be Deleted from the Sales Opportunity Page.

  1. To submit the Approved Sales Opportunity, check the Submitted checkbox.

  1. After the Sales Opportunity is submitted, it can be viewed in the S&OP Views Configuration Demand Breakdown.

Planning Worksheet

  1. All submitted Sales Opportunities will appear in the Planning Worksheet when the Sales Opportunities View is selected.
